WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrading by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item upgrader mod level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an item upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult, but the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
