The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range, including Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also has many options for customization. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked as well as when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted, and when the filter has to be changed.

It would be great to have GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of GE refrigerators that allow users to set the number of cups they would like to pour out. It also has a countdown feature on the display of the fridge to show how much water you have remaining, but that's not as useful as Precise fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like a seamless piece of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors to preserve food. The Ice maker is among the top we've tested and produces a pyramid-shaped ice with a low water consumption. This refrigerator is ideal for a single family or kitchenette that needs an elegant design and top of the best food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for several reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never changed by more than a fraction, this is crucial to prevent freezing burn. The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth fridge is a great choice for those who need plenty of space in a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has a standard French door layout, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded to provide more space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser.

One of the best aspects of this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, which makes it easy to move ice into the fridge to use as needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you to organize the place of items. It also has a large container for storing frozen food, and a separate bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It allows you to control the fridge's temperature as well as lighting via your smartphone. It's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.

But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. This fridge took longer to defrost food and chill it than the other fridges we test. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.

The doors are a different issue with this fridge. They have handles that are sunken at the front, which allows shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to pull shut without slamming them. It would have been better if they had front-mounted handle.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent option for those looking to blend the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is above average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a bit cheaper than the top counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, making it an attractive choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It's a minimalist design that isn't as striking visually as other models, but it has enough features to make it a solid choice. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary very far from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a great performance, but isn't quite at the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge proof" finish. It does a great job of removing streaks and fingerprints, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
