The handles are inline and operate with the same spindle as well as screw fixings. They can be easily incorporated into doors made of uPVC/Composite, either new or old.

The sprung lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle for double glazed window has been tested to 200,000 cycles. This ensures that the finish is of high quality and performance over time. The sprung lever can also be reduced to accommodate a wider range of locks. This is especially useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with latches which can be operated with the thumb located on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles that are found on most doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are generally employed on UPVC double glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in various finishes, including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles come with the spindle and screws, allowing them to be fitted on a new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is usually an advantage when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging out of the horizontal position when they are not in use.

It is important to match up the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect in ensuring that you have the right handles.

When you have the right PZ size you will then need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are of a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant handles that you need for your doors. They typically have a square or round shape, with an internal lever and an external door handles push pad.

The majority of UPVC Lever Pads we offer are sprung. This means they return to a horizontal position after they are not in use instead of hanging, and possibly securing to the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from entering a home. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed versions that allow them to be put on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock and allow them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is vitally important; this is contingent on the way your door and handle are used. For instance, exterior doors must be secured with a higher security cylinder, while internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that increase security, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to each end of the cylinder including the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can remove it. It is essential to not have a cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These features are designed to minimize the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder rotate in a different direction. This can help to deflect an attack and ensure your door is secure.

There are cylinders that are designed to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common type of attack on cylinders where the break line in the lock is targeted by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a quicker and easier way to gain access than through the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is found within the base plate of the door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to help return your multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after use. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind did not have a spring integrated into them and without this they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism is removed. This component is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also stops your upvc door from becoming stuck in the open or closed position since they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a bespoke hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement upvc window handles to broken or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
