All-terrain pushchair that provides lightweight durability and great maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold means it's easy to transport and freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines to a near-flat position and there's a giant storage bin and canopy. The suitability for newborns is yes and with a separate carrycot (not suitable for sleeping overnight).

Good suspension and air-filled tyres will handle rough terrain well. It's also suitable for jogging, although you should wait until your baby is six or nine months old to do this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This light pushchair made by Ickle Bubba comes with a variety of features that parents will love. The travel system comes with an adjustable carrycot that can be folded flat for newborns and a dual-position rear and forward facing pushchair seat.

The XL Air is a really impressive car and it's simple to see why it's been awarded so many praises from customers. It is extremely light with the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg. It's also very simple to put together. In fact I was able get the whole thing up and running in less than five minutes, which is impressive considering it included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

The seat is large and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. The basket has plenty of space and I like that the handle bar features a pocket to keep your keys and phone secure.

The handlebar is low, which may be a problem for parents who are taller. However, it's encased in a lovely leather-like material that's soft and comfortable and cleans down easily, making it still easy to push even with children and bags on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for active parents who want to get outside and explore. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on forest and field trails, and the front wheel can be rotated and locked to give you more flexibility. The stroller also features five-point safety harnesses with a front bar that keeps your child safe during every trip. The parking brake will keep the stroller stationary while you rest. The seat can be adjusted to a laying position and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit mom or dad.

Whether you're going for a quick jog or a hike that lasts a while, the Runner is ready to accompany you on your journeys with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee a bump-free ride. The front 3 wheel stroller lightweight can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks and the stroller folds up easily to fit into car boots and storage spaces.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Additionally the locking system (requiring two buttons on either side of the handlebar) is less user-friendly. The Pace is a different great product from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making simple and well-designed parenting essentials. It's their latest and the most expensive addition to their stroller line that is a bargain and lightweight. Similar to the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it's car seat-compatible, so you can use it from the time of birth.

The new Pace features some stunning design features such as rose-gold hues on the hood, chassis and stroller trims that really set it apart. The car seat and stroller fabrics are stylish in tan, grey and cream. You can also choose to add a leather handle and bumper bar to match.

The stroller seat is used from birth to a maximum weight of 22kg. It can easily be converted to a two-in-one reversible position, which is either parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat comes with multiple lying positions, a softly padded leg rests and has an extendable sun canopy with hidden zip sections, a see through flap and an adjustable sun visor.

What's more, when it's folded it's Pace measures 56 32 x 43 cm which means it can be used as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. It's also easy to fold down, using two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side that you can click into and out. Then, it will pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Designed to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair, Bugaboo's newest Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis comes with a shorter wheel width that makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two kids eight weeks old and a toddler - on rough pavements as well as grassy wooded paths and even cobblestones.

The puncture-proof wheels are big in size - 22cm and a whopping 30cm - so they can cope with all kinds of terrain. They also have a handy flap that can open or closes to allow more air to circulate if you need it and is a nice touch. It's a bit bigger than other pushchairs, however it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when pushing it across bumpy surfaces.

The fabric for the seat can be machine washed, and the faux leather frame and grips are easy to clean. It's also quieter than other pushchairs, and I was comfortable using it in busy city streets. Another benefit is that it incorporates accessory points. This means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a tray for snacks. The hood can be used to block rain and wind, however it's not waterproof. It's a single pram but you can attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child a bit of leg room. It took around 20 minutes to set up the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it to the seat.
